I’ve said it, you’ve said it, we’ve all said it at least once: “I don’t know what to blog about!”
I heard a CEO of a company say that the other day, and she was worried. “I wanted to put up fresh content every day on our blog. But I was always stuck on what to write about.” Notice how she said ‘was’ – She solved the problem.
It was easy too. She decided that blogging was more than her responsibility; it was a necessary marketing and branding activity that she would share with her staff. The CEO held a short brainstorming session with her staff and when they finished the outcomes amazed them:
1) 4 people would rotate blogging so no one person was ‘stuck’ with it.
2) They were thrilled that the blog now would have multiple voices that would make it more engaging.
3) They had a list of blog post ideas to last them for the next month (they created a blogging calendar).
4) A friend of a friend was identified to shoot short videos of the staff. Each staff member would at least once per month help make a short tutorial or humorous video to place on the blog.
Problem solved.
